about

In 1998 I was meeting up with Holly Johnson of Frankie Goes To Hollywood and solo fame. It was quite a surreal experience going to his house to see him and sit in his kitchen having soup and cake. I felt very welcome and it was like going round a mate's house to mess about with synths. We had this idea of being able to sync what I had done with his setup but I think we were in need of the technology that became available several years later.
From 1999 I was steered towards music that really wasn't me, I was listening and analysing Europop and the like.Luckily I was offered the chance to do a Bowie cover for a small label. They asked if I knew any vocalists, I approached Claudia Brucken after making a version of "This is not America". Fortunately I was able to take my Access Virus up to London as she was starting to work with Paul Humphreys of OMD. It ws the start of a great journey, Paul still continues to be pivotal in my then new found belief that you should make the music that you want to make, not make what you think people want.
I particularly see my sound appearing in 2000 and I put that down to my working relationship with Paul.
